We are thrilled to announce that Laniya "Nya" Rountree is the first recipient of the prestigious 2024 Holli J. Locker Scholarship. Graduating with distinction at the tender age of 17 and achieving an impressing GPA, Nya has demonstrated remarkable academic excellence and dedication. Beyond her scholastic achievement, Nya is devoted to her passion for cosmetology and is committed to positively contributing to her church community.

This fall, Nya will commence her studies at the illustrious Norfolk State University, a Historically Black University, majoring in Social Work. She is continuing her parents' legacy and driven by her ambition to become a medical Social Worker. With aspirations to engage in sisterhood and community service, Nya plans to join a Historically Black Greek-letter Organization (BGLO).
